Panda Panel Agencies Limited is one of the UK’s leading independent import / export agency companies specialising in a comprehensive range of both "Commercial" and "Speciality" wood based panel products originating primarily from China, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Whilst being a UK based company our main operation is in China where we have our own staff and from where we export to a number of world markets including the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East, South Africa, Australia, Greece, Turkey and the Caribbean Islands. We also have a representative in Malaysia.
We are able to provide an extensive range of products which are currently sold to major importers, industrial end users and DIY multiple retail stores.
Everything we ship from China is carefully inspected piece by piece by our own team of inspectors either during production and / or during final quality inspection.
We are FSC® Certified (SGSCH-COC-004667) and specialise in FSC® Certified commercial plywood, film faced plywood and door skin plywood.
We are also PEFC Certified (Certificate No GB20/967084) and will soon be introducing a range of PEFC Certified plywood products from Asia and Europe.
We are also ISO 9001 : 2015 certified (QAS International Registration Certificate No CA15150) and have been assessed and approved by QAS International in accordance with the relevant management systems, standards and guidelines.
Through many years of experience in trading directly with Chinese plywood manufacturers (as opposed to export trading companies) we have the ability to ensure that everything we sell is in accordance with the correct specification and quality requirements.
We have a reputation for being able to supply virtually every type of wood based panel product originating in Asia and our range of products is a testament to the time spent with suppliers in the region to establish new and innovative products. In fact we are very proud of the fact that we have been trading with some of our suppliers for over 20 years.
Effective from March 3rd 2013 the new “European Timber Regulations” (EUTR)((EU)995/2010 dated 20th October 2010) came into effect making it illegal to place illegal timber (or products manufactured from illegal timber) on EU markets and all businesses affected by the Regulations now have to adopt practices to ensure that they trade and supply legal timber as a minimum.
In order to comply with the new regulations we work very closely with our suppliers who are now able to provide comprehensive sets of documents to confirm that where necessary, everything we offer is in compliance with the new regulations.
To compliment our range of EUTR compliant products we have recently been appointed as agents for a reputable Indonesian FLEGT (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade) licenced plywood manufacturer and able to supply a wide range of FLEGT certified products including tropical hardwood throughout commercial plywood and Albizia Falcatta lightweight plywood.
Having been established for the past 20 years our customers increasingly demand unique and innovative panel products which we continue to source from our versatile and innovative suppliers.
Over the years , we have increased our product knowledge and supply chain expertise to allow us to offer the extensive product range we have today.
We are comitted to:
• Protecting the environment, the prevention of pollution and continual improvement of our environmental management system.
• Sustainable resource use, climate change mitigation, protection of biodiversity and ecosystems.
• Conform to applicable legal, regulatory and compliance obligations and to be a good neighbour.
FSC® is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests (http://www.fsc.org).
Under the terms of our certification we are obliged to maintain accurate chain of custody records for purchases and sales of wood based panel products from FSC® Certified suppliers to FSC® Certified customers. The records are available for scrutiny by FSC® and the certification organisation on demand.
PEFC Chain of Custody is the process of handling information on the origin of forest-based products and allows an organisation to make accurate and verifiable claims on the content of sustainably certified material. This proves that each step of the supply chain from the forest to the end user has been monitored closely through independent auditing.
PEFC's Due Diligence System, (DDS) excludes wood from unknown, illegal and controversial sources, and includes social requirements to protect the fundamental rights of workers along the supply chain.
Chain of Custody certification offers assurances that the certified material in the final product, originated from a PEFC certified forest, managed with due respect for environmental, economic and social standards.
We are also sourcing products from Indonesian suppliers with FLEGT (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade) Certification. The EU's FLEGT Action Plan was established in 2003. It aims to reduce illegal logging by strengthening sustainable and legal forest management, improving governance and promoting trade in legally produced timber.
We continually monitor our suppliers to ensure that environmental standards are met and that no products sourced by us derive from any of the following:
1) Endangered species prohibited under Appendix 1 of the CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) legislation
2) Timber that has been illegally harvested
3) Areas where traditional or civil rights are violated
4) Wood harvested in endangered forests
5) Wood harvested in forests being converted into “Non forest” use (for example palm oil plantations)
We visit all our suppliers on a regular basis to discuss environmental issues and changes to relevant legislation. We encourage them to undertake sound environmental practices and to obtain independent certification such as FSC® or PEFC.
